Why read and study books about nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler?
If there is one person in history whose activities changed the world, that person would be the German leader or Fuhrer Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) who led Nazi Germany and its allies into World War II (1939-1945), by any measure, the most devastating war in history.
But why read books about Hitler and Nazi Germany? The implication being that Hitler was so evil and caused so much trouble that there is no point in glorifying him by learning about his life. The answer is Adolf Hitler is someone we recognize, someone whose contributions — for better or for worse — have had a significant effect on our culture and the world and as members of that global community we should know something about the man, the world he lived in, and the events that shaped his thinking.
Now, examine for yourself Hitler's Germany through these captivating (some out of print & hard to find) history books, art books, first hand war stories from Wermacht soldiers, tactical order of battle books, as well as WW2 / WWII military reference books full of Third Reich pictures & nazi war images. Don't let anyone tell you what to think; read, study and come to your own conclusions about the Third Reich, Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler the Leader of the German Volk.

Das Haus Der Deutschen Kunst 1937-1944:
War Paintings volume 1-3
by Friedrich Burgdorfer
PzG nazi WW2 Hitler books:
The House of German Art was Hitler’s antidote to the “Jewish Cult of Ugliness” of the Weimar Republic presenting instead a culturally uplifting and heroic ideal to encourage the aspirations of his people.
Das Haus Der Deutschen Kunst 1937-1944 War Paintings vol 1: With the rise to power of the National Socialists in 1933 ended public funding for the recent art movement that was felt by Adolf Hitler as decadent and a cult of ugliness. To the desired representational art to give weight, was in Munich a huge museum - the House of German Art - erected. From 1937 Great German Art Exhibitions have been held there every year. From 15,000 applicants (painter, graphic artist, sculptor) were represented on the seven exhibitions around two thousand artists, nearly six million visitors by 1944. This first volume of three volumes applied work shows a cross-section of the painting from the fields of working life and peasantry, nude, landscape, portrait, still life, party and SA as well as some sculptures. All designs are presented in large format, color illustrations of excellent image quality. The book is a tribute to the outlawed artists of this period. The rousing text traces the fierce battle for a new German art and presents important artists of this period of art.
Das Haus Der Deutschen Kunst 1937-1944 War Paintings vol 2: This second volume is devoted to the Museum of Monaco - the German House of Art - where Hitler set up the "Great Exhibition of Germany" from 1937 to 1944. The paintings on display focused on the peasant, artisan, industry, family, everyday world, animals, portraits and still lifes. This volume reconstructs the missing catalog since 1945 and is the result of long and passionate research of private collections, archives and museums, both in Germany and abroad.
Das Haus Der Deutschen Kunst 1937-1944 War Paintings vol 3: This third volume is devoted to the soldiers' and military themed subjects displayed at the Munich art exhibition. A really interesting selection of works are shown. Many of the paintings show fighting scenes at the front, weapons and soldiers, portraits of popular painters of that time period by artists like Claus Bergen, Franz Eichhorst, Rudolf Lipus, Paul Mathias Padua, Wolfgang Willrich. All of it in full color and many are being shown for the first time.
The accompanying German text goes into detail about the great art collections of Hitler, Goering, Goebbels, Ribbentrop and Speer with the topic on art theft as well as the fate of Nazi art and what happened to it all in 1945 when the war ended.
